Microneedling in San Antonio — Dermapen at THEIA
Collagen induction therapy for tone, scarring and skin quality.

About Dermapen Microneedling
Considered care, calibrated to you.
Dermapen microneedling uses an array of fine needles oscillating at high speed to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the dermis, triggering the skin's own collagen and elastin cascade without removing the surface layer. That distinction is what makes microneedling in San Antonio such a versatile treatment at THEIA: because it does not target melanin the way ablative lasers do, it is safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types, including the deeper skin tones for which we would decline aggressive CO₂ resurfacing. We use Dermapen to address acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture and general skin quality, adjusting needle depth by facial zone rather than treating the whole face at one setting. Treatments run in a series of three to four sessions spaced four weeks apart, with topical numbing for comfort and roughly twenty-four to forty-eight hours of redness resembling a mild sunburn. Collagen remodeling continues for three to six months after the final session, so the skin you see at week four is not the final result.

Questions
Frequently asked.
How much does microneedling cost in San Antonio?
Microneedling is priced per session, with package pricing for the standard three-to-four-session series — which is how we recommend treating, since a single session does not complete the collagen cascade. Add-on serums are priced separately and discussed beforehand.
Does microneedling hurt?
Topical numbing is applied for twenty to thirty minutes beforehand and keeps most patients comfortable. You may feel light pressure, vibration and warmth.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients complete three to four sessions spaced four weeks apart. Deeper acne scarring sometimes benefits from six.
What is the downtime?
Plan for twenty-four to forty-eight hours of redness similar to a mild sunburn, with possible light flaking on day three.
Is microneedling safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Because microneedling creates mechanical rather than thermal or pigment-targeted injury, it is considered safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types when performed correctly.
Can microneedling be combined with serums?
Yes — targeted serums applied during or after treatment are a common addition and are discussed at consultation based on your concerns.
