PRP Therapy in San Antonio — Face & Hair at THEIA

Autologous platelet-rich plasma for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration — physician-supervised regenerative care.

About PRP Therapy

Considered care, calibrated to you.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a regenerative therapy that concentrates the growth factors already in your own blood and delivers them where you need collagen remodeling or follicular reactivation. At THEIA in Stone Oak, our PRP program in San Antonio is physician-supervised and offered in two established indications: facial rejuvenation (combined with microneedling for texture, tone and scar improvement) and hair restoration (injected into the scalp for androgenetic thinning). Blood is drawn in-office, centrifuged in a double-spin protocol to isolate a high-platelet fraction and applied or injected the same visit. Because PRP is autologous — derived from your own body — the risk of allergic reaction is minimal. Regenerative protocols and case selection are guided by our regenerative medicine specialist, Dra. Ailed, and delivered under the supervision of our Texas-licensed Medical Director.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How much does PRP cost in San Antonio?

Facial PRP with microneedling and hair PRP are typically priced per session with a package discount for the recommended series. Transparent pricing at consultation.

Does PRP work for hair loss?

PRP has moderate-quality evidence for androgenetic alopecia — most effective in early-to-moderate thinning, less effective once follicles are dormant. We're transparent about candidacy at consultation and often combine PRP with finasteride/minoxidil (physician discussion required).

How is facial PRP different from a regular facial?

PRP with microneedling drives your own growth factors into the dermis via micro-channels, stimulating collagen remodeling. A signature facial focuses on cleansing, exfoliation and hydration at the surface. Different depth, different mechanism.

Is PRP safe?

Because PRP is autologous, allergic reaction is very rare. Local bruising, tenderness and mild swelling are expected. Contraindications include active infection at the site, certain platelet disorders and anticoagulant use — screened at consultation.

Is there downtime?

Hair PRP: mild scalp tenderness for a day. Facial PRP with microneedling: 24–48 hours of pinkness, mild swelling and dryness — similar to a moderate microneedling session.

How soon will I see results?

Hair: shedding may increase in the first weeks; visible density change typically at 3–4 months. Facial: initial glow within days, collagen remodeling over 3 months.
